Black Woman, Indeed is a theatrical spoken-word meditation on Black womanhood, identity, survival, memory, and reclamation. Built from interviews, personal reflection, and conversations with Black and biracial women across generations, the work blends intimate storytelling with music, ritual, humor, and embodiment. Through themes of childhood, beauty, code-switching, professional life, vulnerability, endurance, and self-reclamation, Jada explores the emotional, physical, and spiritual labor Black women are expected to carry. Moving between the personal and the collective, Black Woman, Indeed does not seek easy answers. Instead, it creates space for truth, accountability, recognition, and a fuller understanding of the complexity, humanity, joy, rage, tenderness, and resilience of Black women.
