Two Lies and a Truth is a triptych solo show that follows a young man’s journey of self-discovery through creation. Across three interconnected monologues full of humor and heart, we see Jalen search for a deeper truth of who he is, or at least who he wants to be. While embodying a neurotic introvert, cocky former child star, and then himself, Jalen ponders if his true self is in the fictional characters he creates, or if it lies past the page and in the mirror. Two Lies and a Truth explores identity, grief, family dynamics, and the contradictions of being a young Black man coming of age in contemporary times. Witty, poignant, and earnest, this one-man show will take you on a journey as we find out if there can be truth in the lies we tell.
